Yes Mambo, "the Hamar ethnic group lives in the south of the province of Gemu, Gofa, and an area between Lake Stephanie and Turkana" so southern Ethiopia and also south-east Sudan. I guess there is some overlap into Kenya, the borders being more or less fuzzy around those parts!

I checked this out - this guy is a serious pro! I liked the comments besides the pics on how he took some of them...interesting. On the Africa slideshow, the last slide refers to the 'Hamar women of Kenya'. Now I've never heard of this tribe! Bet they're from Ethiopia or Sudan...

That guy in Sooz's picture has shure streached his ears, my tribe use to do the same thing and we would dangle gold disks from them. Of all the peoples of Africa, the people of Southern Sudan, southern Ethiopia, and Northern Kenya perhaps interest me the most, they are truly ancient.
