Kenya's tourism received a shot in the arm yesterday when a panel of experts and a major American television channel declared the annual Wildebeest migration one of the seven new wonders of the world.
Broadcasting live from the Maasai Mara to millions of American homes, the channel made the declaration during its breakfast show "Good Morning America."

Watching the migration is one of the most amazing sights I have ever seen. Hundreds and hundreds of wilderbeest heading in one direction together. I remember seeing this for the first time in the Serengeti
You were awe struck at the magnitude, wondered which would live or at best survive being some lions dinner......

Yeah. I've only seen it once and that was when the migration had arrived in the Mara and the wildebeest were spread out across the horizon. It was like driving through a sea of animals. But I have not yet seen the masses on the move or river crossings etc. Thats what requires a lot of time and money

Or a lot of luck. One day.

Am yet to see it live, i have seen some really interesting recorded migrations in recorded tapes. Its good though that its been declared a wonder in the world since its really a sight to behold the beasts crossing, the crocodiles also making their kill, some buffaloes drowning in the rush..

I've never seen the Wildebeest Migration, but god, it should be fantastic to see. I saw this movie about the Wildebeest Migration here, the most beautiful Kenyan safari movie I've ever seen:
http://www.kenya-advisor.com/kenya-movie-gallery.htmlCheck it out - it's at the top of the page. It will begin to play immediately if you click on it (though it might be a bit slow if you are on dial-up). Show it to all potential tourists and they won't know how hard they have to run to Kenya! The only disadvantage: it's a bit long (5 minutes).
