How far will 175,000 KES go? How long and how fun?
Kat
That would be approx. $ 2,225.00 depending on the rate of exchange of the day.....

I'm sure you could have some fun.....as long as you're careful.....and not blow it in one spot... wave.gif

But I still do not know how far that would get me in Kenya.

In Kenya, deduct $ 50 @ day car rental, $ 80 Florida Tart! @ gig, your relas and brat that think they know you @ $100 a nite, tuskers and nyama @ $80 per nite.

Eh I betcha you'll last 2 weeks nicely ...well serviced ! coffee-n-news_3.gif

If thats only pocket money (No weeding expences, or car ) you can have a good holiday for two weeks. That includes Hote and meal.

I will be there for three weeks. I am told that we will spend several nights with relatives, going from one to another. ( that means free food and room to me smile.gif ) May also be at a hotel in a Masai Mara, provided by a relative. Hopefully we will get to Mombasa. I was also told not to make any arrangements myself, as I would be charged more. Different prices for tourists! I think all that I am doing is showing up.

$50 a day for car rental sounds a little steep. That is nuts. How much is Tusker?!? I was hoping to have a few of those.... daily. I guess as long as I am well serviced, that is good. And I am quite sure I will be. hihi.gif

Oh, yeah, was also wanting to do the typical tourist thing and go to the market and bring back a truck load of stuff that fits in luggage. Anyone know where I can get a piece of luggage that is large enuf for oxygen bottles, water, and food, plus one human sized article? wink.gif

Go to a Capenter and let him make you a mass made suitcase. With Bottles and aircondition.
Oh, and don't forget to pack Nappies inside

When I posted that last comment, I was reflecting on where my mind was when I was asking those questions about being in Kenya, how much money I needed, what I was going to do, etc.

One year later....

I've learned valuable lessons in patience and what is really important vs. what is not.

What IS important: God, family, friends and the time you spend with them.

What is NOT important: money, worry, things and the time you spend with them.

I think I could write an essay regarding this last year's lessons, triumphs, and disappointments. Perhaps I should spare Mambo's joint from it, perhaps not.
